Shun Kagerou
Shun Kagerou evokes the shimmering heat haze rising from blazing flames, combining the timeless artistry of Japanese blade-making with KAI's most advanced Composite Blade Technology. This exceptional series delivers outstanding cutting performance through the innovative fusion of mirror-polished stainless steel with a high-quality dual-core steel edge, creating knives that are both beautiful and supremely functional.
Kagerou blades feature a distinctive two-tone design where the upper section displays an elegant mirror-polished finish, while the lower portion showcases fine Damascus steel patterning that flows upward along the edge like rising heat. This unique aesthetic gives the series its name - Kagerou (陽炎), meaning "Heat Haze" in Japanese. The 70-layer construction combines flexible VG 2 steel with extremely hard VG 10 steel, ensuring exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention that allows ingredients to be cut effortlessly with superior food release.
The symmetrical grey-marbled PakkaWood handles are treated with selected resins for exceptional smoothness, durability, and moisture resistance. Designed for optimal ergonomics and comfortable grip, each knife features a seamless bolster and forged end cap for perfect balance and cutting performance.
