1. Order Cancellations
You can cancel your online order any time before we dispatch your items.
We'll process a full refund to your original payment method within 3-5 business days.
2. 14-Day Change of Mind Returns
You can return unopened, unused items in their original packaging within 14 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange.
Return Requirements:
• Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to initiate a return. Kindly wait for our authorisation before sending any items back.
• Products must be unopened, unused, undamaged, in their original packaging, and in a condition suitable for resale.
• Return shipping costs will not be covered by Kai Shun NZ.
• Include a copy of your original order confirmation email with the returned item.
• Package items safely to prevent damage during return transit. Any goods damaged during return transit are your responsibility and will not be accepted. Please contact your courier to file a claim for any damages incurred.
• If returned products don't meet these requirements, we'll contact you to discuss options.
Refund Details For Change Of Mind Returns:
• Product cost will be refunded to your original payment method.
• Original shipping charges are not refundable for change of mind returns.
• Sale items cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty or damaged.
Gift With Purchase Return/Exchange Policy
If your order included a gift with purchase, to be eligible for a full refund, both the primary product(s) and the complimentary gift must be returned in their original condition. If the gift is not returned with your return, the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) value of the gift will be deducted from the refund amount.
Gifts included with your purchases are not individually exchangeable or refundable. We cannot make substitutions for different versions, colors, or variants.
Discounts cannot be stacked or combined. This extends to the 'Gift with Purchase' promotions and means that discount codes will not work where a 'Gift with Purchase' promotion is already applied.
3. Damaged Items (Shipping Damage)
If your package arrives damaged during transit, please contact us within 3 days by email info@kaishun.co.nz or phone 09 272 8620.
What to do:
• Keep all original packaging (including courier bag/box).
• Take photos of the damaged packaging and product if possible.
• Our customer care team will arrange a replacement immediately.
4. Product Warranty/ Faulty Products (Manufacturing Defects)
In relation to the Goods, Kai Shun proudly stands behind the quality of its products providing a limited warranty for the lifetime of the original owner, except when stated otherwise.
We guarantee our knives against manufacturing defects in material and construction and to perform as advertised when properly used and maintained. The limited lifetime warranty is non-transferable and does not extend to normal signs of wear, rust, damage or breakage due to improper use, improper maintenance, accidents, loss, or theft. This warranty is void on products that have been modified in any way. The Shun Logo is not covered by the limited lifetime warranty.
Warranty applies to Goods purchased from this website and from authorised Shun stockists in New Zealand only.
No other warranties are implied or expressed other than what is specifically stated here. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes normal wear, improper use/maintenance, and modification.
In the unlikely event that your KAI Shun product is faulty or not performing as it should, please follow the process below:
Process For Faulty Items:
• Contact our customer service team to report the issue by email info@kaishun.co.nz or phone 09 272 8620.
• If we can’t resolve your issue directly, we may request Kai Shun goods be returned for further assessment and testing (return shipping covered by us).
• Include a copy of your original order confirmation email with the returned item.
• If confirmed as a manufacturing fault, we’ll provide immediate replacement/repair or a full refund.
• If deemed due to misuse, we'll contact you to discuss suitable solutions.
Zip Payment Returns
Paid with Zip?
Returns work the same way as any other payment method - just follow our standard returns process above.
How Zip Refunds Work:
• We process your refund using your original order number
• Your Zip payment plan will be automatically adjusted
• The refund goes directly back to the card linked to your Zip account
• Refunds are applied to unpaid instalments first
• Allow up to 5 business days for the refund to appear on your card statement
• If your refund doesn't appear after 7 working days, contact Zip directly for assistance
