Good, nice quality stone, the case is kinda cheap plastic stuff, great as a holder but I tend to place the stone on a mat anyway.
Amazing knife, incredibly sharp out the box, beautiful design, definitely buying more knives of different types, can't think of a better life long kitchen knife brand.
Buying as a gift for a fellow chef friend, I bought the Shun paring knife as I know their knives to be consistently ergonomically and functionally exceptional. I held it briefly to feel the marvellously balanced and weighted blade and also to admire the beauty of the damascus steel. I'll certaintly continue to buy Shun knives for myself and highly recommend them to others in the future.
I love this purchase. This is my second Kai Shun knife. Makes food preparation really enjoyable.

Had looked at and admired these knives for a long time. Finally decided a gift to my self was in order.
No regrets. I love this knife. The look, the feel I the hand, the balance and the sharpness. An absolute delight to use, and a surprise as well. I thought my old k ife was decent, and sharp, but, we'll, not so much it now seems. Will keeping it for the nasty jobs like breaking squash open, but basically it is now unemployed.
Have used the stone to bring all my older knives back to a good keen edge. Works well. The plastic holding frame doubles as a good base for when using the block, as well as for storing it afterwards. Very good tool.

Brilliant product. Once the bubbles were gone, sharpened all my knives and very happy with the result. Now the whetstone needs smoothing, so I bought a flatstone smoother too. Arrived today, soaked it and smoothed my stones. What great products
