Shun Leather Sheath Small
AP5404
$89.99A fine leather sleeve for your smaller Shun knives.
Paring and utility knives do so much of the fine, careful work in the kitchen. The Shun Leather Sheath Small keeps their delicate tips and edges protected. Each sheath is made one at a time from genuine black cowhide by skilled craftspeople in Japan.
It fits Shun paring, utility and steak knives with blades up to 15.5cm long. A smooth button fastener, finished in black to match the leather, keeps the knife snug and secure. The Shun logo is pressed into the leather for a quiet, refined finish.

Using your sheath
- Make sure your knife is clean and completely dry.
- Slide the blade in slowly and straight, tip first. Never force it.
- Fasten the button to hold the knife in place.
- To remove, undo the button and slide the knife out slowly and straight.
Caring for the leather
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a lightly damp cloth, then let it air dry.
- Never soak the sheath, put it in water, or put it in a dishwasher.
- If it gets wet, take the knife out and let the leather dry naturally at room temperature, away from heaters and direct sun.
- Store it away from heat and strong sunlight, which can dry out and fade leather.
- Every few months, treat it with a good-quality leather conditioner. Test it on a small hidden area first.
- Do not sheath a damp knife. Moisture trapped against the blade is not good for the steel or the leather.
- Genuine leather has natural grain marks and small variations. It softens and gains character with use.
